Tom Lick, who went to Glory peacefully in Petoskey on Friday, March 4, had some “Nurse Ratched” moments with TJ sneaking coffee in, and the usual arguing over who was the tallest T to the U of M doctor (jab about Tom sinking the winning basket at A₂ 1969). The EMTs had recovered tv remote attached to Tom’s clothing/gurney. (so… Mochi would not steal it.)
Tom was bountifully loved by women, two sister wives and a gorgeous companion in Paris for professional basketball. NOBODY had more fun. Thomas William is survived by “twin” French professor Carol Lick, (and head of IT department Cal Poly husband, Jim Beug) two genius nieces, Ali @Cal Poly and Annie@ Google, and wildlife artist = not-so-tall TJ Lick.
Most enviable, however, were his bonds with teammates – whatever game! Each has king-of-lies atrocious stories. Tom’s close family and friends are devastated; but the “legend” assured us that he is on Jesus’ first team. He is worth our earthly tears, thank you.
