February 3, 2024	We've added a Classmate Passing page at the bottom of the Information dropdown menu to provide additional information on our classmates' passing. It's in chronological order and it's scary to see how the passings are getting closer together! Also, we continue to add postcards nearly every month. Remember, the most recently added cards will be at the end of the last "thubnail" for that page.
October 12, 2023	Phil Alexander at the Otsego County Historical Society was able to borrow a 1965 St. Mary's yearbook, scan the senior pictures, and send them to us. We've added them to the 60's Reunion dropdown menu. Click here to view them.We're always adding new postcards. Remember, the most recent additions will be found in the last thumbnail panel as they are always added to the end.
July 28, 2023	We've lost another friend and classmate. Don Luther's wife, Frances contacted us last week to let us know that Don passed away on Friday, July 16, 2023.He had been having some health issues, and for the last year or so had been confined to a wheelchair.His page has been updated with his obituary.
April 14, 2023	Plans are underway for a class picnic in Gaylord on July 15, 2023. As soon as the details become available, we'll email everyone, and post the details here on the Message Board. Stay tuned!
July 28, 2022	Norm Glasser came across some burial infomation for classmate Carl Brooks. Since this Carl was a couple years older than most classmates we weren't sure if it was our Carl. Wayne Townsend knows Nancy Long, Carl's sister and she confirmed that it was indeed our Carl. We asked her to put together a recap of Carl's life after he graduated and we posted it on his page.
July 12, 2022	We had seventeen classmates make it to the picnic at Irontone Springs. Even though it was in the sixties it was great to see everyone. Checkout the class photo as well as the individual pictures from the Reunion Photos drop-down menu.
June 16, 2022	Another friend and classmate has passed. We just learned from Linda Myers that Wendel Atkins passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Only a short obituary is currently avalable at Nelson's Funeral Home. If more information becomes available we will post it to Wendel's page.
June 6, 2022	Trish Brehm shared a couple of Don's voicemails. We posted them on Don's page so we could hear his distinctive voice. We also added a few more pictures of Don.
March 25 2022	Posted some remarks and a wonderful photo of Tom from Ardis on his page. As soon as an obituary is available, that will be posted as well, and the message board willl be updated.
March 10 2022	Classmate Steve Huff posted on Facebook that Tom Lick passed away in Boyne Falls on March 4, 2022. We're still waiting on an obituary to be published so we can add it to Tom's class page.
March 3 2022	Don Brehm's wife Trish was kind enough to put together an Obituary for him. It's now on his class page. We're also adding newly discovered postcards on a regular basis, so check those out as well.
January 12, 2022	When Wayne Townsend called to chat with Don Brehm on January 11, 2022, he discovered that Don passed away from cancer on December 29, 2021. Although Don's wife Trish hasn't yet put an obituary together, we've updated his page with some more photos. When an obituary is available, we will post it to Don's class page.
February 24, 2021	We were all saddened to hear that Joanie Peckham passed away at her home in Dedham, Massachusetts on February 24, 2021. Joanie always had a smile for everyone and we'll miss seeing her at class reunions. Her page has been updated with her obituary.
January 16, 2021	We've lost another one of our flock. Herb Brock passed away on January 16, 2021. Herb was living in Lansing near his brother at the time of his death. He was a fixture at the eighth-grade dances and loved to dance his "dirty chicken". We've updated his page with a "Nobituary" because he didn't want an obituary published.
September 9, 2018	Friend and classmate John Bergquist has passed away. John was a wonderful guy with a gregarious personality. We'll all miss his smiling face. His page has been updated with his obituary..
July 21, 2017	The Sixties Reunion on Saturday, July 15th was a resounding success. Class pictures were taken and can be see here. Use the 60's Reunion dropdown menu to navigate to these as well as miscellaneous photos that were taken. Our thanks go to Tom and Jenny Mongeau for all their work in hosting the reunion again!
May 11, 2017	We've lost another friend and classmate. Linda Flewelling passed away on May 11th in Tennessee. We have posted her obituary along with a couple of photos. Our thoughts and prayers are with Linda and her family. She will be missed.
January 3, 2017	We were notified today of classmate Bill McBride's passing and have posted his obituary. He had been ill with pancreatic cancer since early in 2015 and passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016. Our thoughts are prayers are with his family. Bill is the twelfth classmate we have lost since graduation.
August 17, 2016	We've had a pretty good response to the 2016 information form, but we need more! So far we have responses from Clyde Bolin, Judy Calkins, Sue Coultes, Cathy DeLaMater, John Dickman, Norm Glasser, Sally Drinkert, Paul Henderson, Penny Hoogerhyde, Darlene Johnso, Kathy Knott, Randy Kowalke, Don Luther, Mike McCutcheon, Peggy McVey, Judi Snell, Wayne Townsend and Jack Wheeler. We had to snail-mail a few, but no returns yet. Keep them coming!
August 1, 2016	We stumbled across the Classmate Information Sheets that were submitted for our reunion in 1985. They're now keyed in and will show up on individual classmate pages if they submitted one. We also added a bunch more postcards from various years. We're now up to 975 cards!
March 11, 2016	We're sad to announce that our class has lost another friend and classmate, Mary Galbraith, who passed away on March 4, 2016. Her brother Gary in Florida provided us with the details of her passing. To visit Mary's page, click here or click on this Obituary link. Our prayers are with Mary's family and friends.
January 26, 2016	We found a cool postcard on eBay that was signed by Mr. Ted Werts, the father of classmate Bruce Werts. Bruce verified that it was his father's signature and that he was both County Clerk and Register of Deeds for Otsego County for thirty-three years. Check it out here, the sixth photo on thumbnail #11.
August 6, 2015	The Senior Class photos of the Class of 1969 are now posted, finally completing the 1960-1969 classes. A special thank you to our classmate Beth Jehle for providing her brother Jim's yearbook for scanning. The photos taken at our 50th Class Reunion are now posted. The class photo can be found here. Check out the Miscelleneous photos taken at classmate Judi Snell's awesome home, and the Reunion photos taken at the at Michaywe Inn The Woods. And we'd like to thank classmates Linda Myers, Judi Snell, Marilyn McMullen and Linda Sue Babcock (and their spouses!) for all the work they did in making the reunion a stunning success! Everyone had a wonderful time. The venue, table settings, decorations and food were all top-notch. Everyone attending said that we should plan for a 55th! We were all saddened, however, to hear of classmate Gail Brandenburg's passing during the week of the reunion. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
April 25, 2015	Classmate Norm Glasser recently returned from an archaeologicall dig where he unearthed a 1960 GHS yearbook in pristine condition! Thank you Norm! So we now have the 1960 senior class photos proudly displayed here. And, for our 1965 classmates, you now have a seventh grade photo on your page (providing you showed up that day). We still need a 1969 GHS Yearbook in order to finish our 60's Senior Photo gallery. If you know a '69 graduate that is willing to part with their cherished yearbook for a few days, please have them contact us at pagemaster@ghs1965.com.
April 7, 2015	The 50th Class Reunion information has been updated here. There are a couple of Google Maps that you can click on and print, as we don't want you losing your way. We're always adding postcards, so check those out as well while you're at the page. See you all on July 18th! Also, we still need GHS Yearbooks for 1960 and 1969 in order to finish our 60's Senior Photo gallery. If you know someone, or know of someone who knows someone who has one, please have them contact us at pagemaster@ghs1965.com. We will scan the pages that we need and return them, unharmed, to the donor.
February 26, 2015	We were able to scan the '62, '63 and '64 yearbooks of our class and have added those pages to each classmate's page. We also expanded the classmate pages to 1024 pixels so we can now display larger images in the future. An update on the reunion details will be coming soon!
January 2, 2015	Our 50th Class Reunion is being planned! Linda Myers, Judi Snell and Marilyn McMullen had an inpromptu, preliminary meeting last week and got the ball rolling. So check this message board from time to time, as well as the "'65 Class Reunion Info" page on the Information dropdown. See you in July!
September 5, 2014	We found an old Gaylord telephone book from 1953 on eBay and posted it to the page. Go go the Other Stuff dropdown menu and select the first option, or go Here to view the book.
August 28, 2014	The 60's Reunion drop-down menu now has an option for Senior Pictures. We've scanned the senior picture portions of available sixties yearbooks and posted them for your viewing enjoyment. We are still in need of yearbooks for 1960, 1968 and 1969, so if you know of someone who has one of these rare artifacts, please have them email us at pagemaster@ghs1965.com so we can arrange to have the pictures scanned so they can be posted..
August 14, 2014	We've posted a major upgrade to the site. The optimal screen resolution has been expanded from 800x600 to 1024x768. The top menu now has a "60's Reunion" option where all the photos live, including the most recent ones from the July 19, 2014 reunion. We're still working on identifiying the members of each class for the class pictures (except for 1965). The post card section has been broken down into four different categories for each decade (except 1970s). We still have a lot of new postcards to post that have accumulated over the past few months. Hundreds of pages needed changing, so it may be some time to get all the bugs worked out. If you have any issues, or can help in identifying the classmates in the 2014 class pictures, please send an email to pagemaster@ghs1965.com.
May 14, 2013	We've posted an article from the Cadillac News from July 27, 2012 featuring our classmate Wayne Townsend who is the chief pilot and navagator of the CWTA Cancer Bus in Cadillac. The bus makes a daily trip to Traverse City and back shuttling cancer patients for treatment. It also includes a video featured by the local television station. The number of postcards on the site now total 816. Take some time to re-visit these as there are some interesting ones.
February 28, 2013	Friend and classmate Chet Korona passed away on February 28, 2013. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chet's friends and family during this difficult time. July 19, 2011	We've posted some pictures taken at the Sixties Reunion on Saturday, July 16, 2011. About 125 alumni attended with a number of new faces! Click here to check them out. Thanks to all who made it a success and we'll see you all in 2014!

November 5, 2010	Our postcard collection continues to grow. We've added a number of new ones over the summer and now have a total of 490 cards on the site. By far the largest is the 1800s-1939 group with 168 cards. Grab a cup of coffee and revisit some old memories!
August 8, 2010	We've posted some video of the July 17th reunion; some clips from the dinner, Bob Fritz's "Special" raffle and a Classmate Slideshow featuring photos of all the classmates that attended. The best results appear to be when using Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Depending on your firewall settings you may be prompted to continue when the page(s) load. Go to Pics & Video -> Video -> 2010 Reunion. A high-speed Internet connection is required to display the video properly. Have fun!
July 20, 2010	Pictures are now posted for the July 17th reunion at the Gaylord Country Club. Twenty-Five classmates were able to attend and the class photo can be viewed here. For individual classmate photos, click on their class picture on the home page to display their personal page. Miscellaneous pictures can be found here. April 7, 2010	Friend and classmate Jimmy Schlang passed away on April 2, 2010. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy's friends and family during this difficult time. Click here for Jim's obituary. December 24, 2009	Friend and classmate Dave Washburn passed away on December 20, 2009. Although Davd didn't attend any class reunions we are still saddened by the loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave's friends and family during this difficult time. Click here for the Herald Times Obituary.
November 22, 2009	Linda Myers was able to get an updated, more recent photo of classmate Danny Fahler from his wife so we could post it on his Obituary page. Thanks Linda! There have also been a few new postcards added to the groups. Check them out!
October 14, 2009	Friend and classmate, Danny Fahler, passed away on October 7, 2009 in New York. Our thoughts and prayers are with Danny's family and friends. Click here for a link to Dan's obituary. A funeral Mass was held in Schenectady, N.Y., for family and close friends. Dan will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in the spring of 2010.
March 10, 2009	Hats off to classmate Bob Nickerson for saving the 2007 Alpenfest issue of the AlpenTimes! That issue had an article about the history of the Alpine Queen featuring our own Connie Wolf. The article is noted on her page, but is also featured here.
January 31, 2009	We found an old collection of Alpenfest and other pins on eBay and put them on the page for your viewing enjoyment. Check your nooks and crannies and see if you can find more! They can be viewed under the \|Other Stuff\| option on the page.
January 28, 2009	We added ten more postcards; five to the 1800s - 1939 section, and five to the 1950's section. If you've visited the postcard area of the page recently, you may have to "refresh" the page (F5) to view the latest cards.
July 11, 2008	Classmates Chuck Simpson and Linda Myers were featured in a July 2008 Primetimes' article entitled "Boomer Memories". It's in Adobe Reader format, so you'll need to have that installed on your computer to read it. A great article with lots of memories!

January 10, 2008	We've launched the latest release of the GHS1965 website. Since this is pretty much a total rewrite of the entire site, you may run across some errors and missing links along the way. If you do, just click on the Information \| Information & Contact drop-down option and send me an email. You may want to review that page anyway, as it provides some connectivity information regarding the new site. Enjoy.
January 5, 2008	Mr. Henry H. Smith, our beloved principal passed away today. For those of us that made it to the 2007 Sixites Reunion in July 2007, it was a real joy seeing him again. Click here for his obituary.
October 23, 2006	A few new postcards have wandered upon the page. Linda Myers sent in a new Flashback; October 6, 1964 (thanks Linda!). We've also posted the great August 2006 Herald Prime Times article on the 1964 GHS boy's basketball season; An Unforgettable Season. You will also find the link on the Yearbook \| Basketball page. We hope to have more on the team's induction into the Greater Otsego Sports Hall of Fame. Thanks to Bob Nickerson for the copy of the Prime Times article! The Sixties Reunion Committee is working hard on organizing another Sixties Reunion in July of 2007. More information will be posted when available. A special thank you to Linda Myers for keeping us up to date on the progress, and her hard work as part of the committee.
December 31, 2005	Happy New Year to all our classmates! We've added some new postcards for the 50s, 60s and 70s. We also plagiarized Reminisce Magazine's March/April 2002 featured year of 1965. You can click on the 1965 Factoids option to check it out. A special thank you to classmate Bob Nickerson for spotting it and passing it along!
December 16, 2005	We were finally able to post the July 6, 2005 article in the Gaylord Herald Times about the July 16, 2005 Sixties Reunion. We also ran across a really cool Sixties Page that you may enjoy visiting. There are some great pictures and music, so have your speakers on! Hopefully this link will stay up for awhile.
December 14, 2005	We added a new Flashback; December 3, 1964. Also added a few new postcards: 1940's Main street, 1958 State Park Beach, 1960's interior view of Snow Valley Ski Lodge and an early 70's card of the By The Way Restaurant.
October 16, 2005	Classmate Paul Henderson sent us a 2005 picture of himself to share. We also added two new 50's postcards, one new 40's and one new 70's. All seventy-one DVDs have been mailed with no returns! Thanks for keeping us up to date with your addresses.
September 8, 2005	We posted an old Schlang's Bavarian Inn and Teen Chalet postcard in the 1960's Postcard section. The GHS 1965 Reunion DVDs and class photos are being mailed out to all classmates for which we have current addresses. Mailing should be complete next week. July 29, 2005	We just posted the home 8mm movie camera video taken by Don & Sue Fitzek at the 10th Class Reunion at the State Park filmed in 1975! A hearty thanks to Don & Sue for lending us their home movie DVD so we could capture this 4 minute video! We also posted about 8 minutes of video taken at the River Cabin for our 40th reunion. You will need Windows Media Player and a fast Internet connection in order to view them. Both videos are located in the *Reunion Class Pictures* drop-down menu.
July 23, 2005	The class pictures have been posted! Check out the *Reunion Class Pictures* drop-down menu on the left, then to the bottom to select the *2005 Class Picture, the Sixties Reunion* class picture (you can zoom in on them by clicking on the picture), or the *2005 Miscellaneous* option for pictures taken at the River Cabin. More pictures coming soon . . . We're working on getting all the other years class pictures together for posting. They've been emailed to the reunion representatives so we can match names with faces. They'll be posted on the Sixties Reunion page. We'll post a message when they're up and notify all the class representatives. Stay tuned . . .
April 18, 2005	We have just posted Bob Widger's Gaylord Herald Times' obituary under his class picture. Thank you to Bob Nickerson and Linda Myers for sending it along.
April 12, 2005	Bob Widger, friend and classmate, passed away on April 8, 2005. Our "Gentle Giant" will be missed by all. Our prayers go out to Bob's friends and family. Services were at noon Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Nelson's Funeral Home in Gaylord.

November 21, 2004	The date for our class reunion has been changed so that we can all attend the First Annual Sixties Reunion which will host all classmates from the 1960-1969 classes. For more information click on the above link or on the Reunion Information button on our main page.
October 27, 2004	Added a new Flashback for October 15, 1964. Most of the GHS class representatives from 1960-1969 met in Gaylord on October 26, 2004. Work is underway to organize the Sixties Reunion to be held each year beginning in July of 2005! Watch here for more information. Remember to get out and vote on November 2nd!
August 25, 2004	Added a new Flashback! Also, we'll soon be doing a mailing to all classmates regarding the reunion. For more info see Reunion Information.
May 6, 2004	Get 'em while they're hot! We added links to the Top 25 Songs so you can listen to each one of them. Internet Explorer is required (sorry Netscape users) and you'll need a player installed, i.e. Media Player, RealPlayer, etc. We'll keep them on the page until we're busted by the Music Police! Added a link to Glen Catt's photo for his Muy Grande Ranch web page. Check it out, it's awesome! We also added Glen's new email address.

January 1, 2004	Happy New Year! Our web page has moved to www.ghs1965.com and now has a home of it's own! Don't forget to change your bookmark. The Postcard collection keeps growing so we've had to split it into decades. The thumbnail galleries load much faster now. We added a tribute to Kenny Measell for his ultimate sacrifice. Click on his picture which is on page four of the junior class (Miscellaneous Photos). There is also a link to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Page.
December 24, 2003	Charlie bagged an elk! Here's an article with photo from the December 24th edition of the Gaylord Herald Times about Bwanna Butcher getting his second career elk!
November 25, 2003	Don Brehem and his lovely bride Trish have retired and moved from California to Arizona! Their current email address is now listed on the classmate email directory. Drop them a note and say hello!
November 7, 2003	We've added a new feature button called Flashbacks. These are reprints of articles in the Gaylord Herald Times that appeared years ago. Those of interest to our class are featured on this page. Thanks to Linda Myers for spotting these and forwarding them to us so we can add them to the page!
October 31, 2003	Added a Otsego County Historical Society link to the Links page for some fascinating Gaylord history. We're also up to over 60 postcards on our Postcards page, check them out.
May 22, 2003	The postcard collection was quickly becoming unmanageable. It now has its very own button as well as a thumbnail gallery, and has been removed from the Miscellaneous Photos drop-down option. We'll be adding more within the next few days so check back!
May 15, 2003	Added more postcards, including one of the Otsego Lake State Park in 1965 and the Hospital in 1958! Check in out in postcards. We now have 14 cards on display! Check 'em out.
April 9, 2003	We've added a postcards option under the Miscellaneous Photos drop-down options. Posted a 1962 Main Street postcard as well as an old Top 'O Michigan Restaurant postcard (smell the burgers and fries!). We'll be adding more, so check the Message Board from time to time!

November, 2002	After 33 years of living in Lansing and working for the railroad, Herb Brock has retired and purchased a retirement home in Atlanta, about 32 miles east of Gaylord. Welcome back Herb!
August 5, 2002	Bob Fritz wants to know if Cheryl Fee remembers leaving her checkers in his MG. Cheryl?
April 8, 2002	John (Jack) Wheeler's picture was featured in the April 1, 2002 issue of the Oakland Press online which is publishing a series on the War on Drugs. We've also had email address changes for Carolyn Rowley and Mike Warner.
January 15, 2002	Another "Blast From The Past". We've added a '65 fishy photo from the Gaylord Herald Times of Don Luther, Jim Fee and friend, to Don's Memorabilia section. A special thanks to Bob Nickerson who snagged the photo for us. We now have Bob Fritz's email address on the Classmate email Directory, and a link to his Seattle Fudge business under his senior picture.
January 10, 2002	Don Brehm recently sent a couple photos of himself and his restored 1954 Cushman Eagle motorbike! See them in the Memorabilia section under Don's name.
January 4, 2002	Happy New Year! We've added more memorabilia pages! Don Luther and Phyllis House contributed some scans and memories of theirs. Don's biography has also been posted and Phyllis sent us a current picture of herself. Thanks Don and Phyllis! Let's get some of your stuff up there too.
December 17, 2001	Minnie Schlang passed away on Monday, December 17th. She was the mother of classmate Jim Schlang and, with her late husband, Leo, owned and operated Schlang's Bavarian Inn in Gaylord. To view the complete story published in the Gaylord Herald Times on December 19th, click here.
December 17, 2001	We've added a new selection at the bottom of the left option panel called Classmate Memorabilia. I've posted a few items there and am soliciting memorabilia from other classmates to post under their name. Please contact me if you have some things you would like to share.
December 15, 2001	Don Luther is no longer at large! He is alive and well and living in Georgia, and has been added to the Classmate E-mail Directory. Pictures and biography coming soon.
