Plans are underway for the 4th Summer Reunion of the GHS classes of the ‘60’s and anyone from the classes of the 1950’s and 1970’s too! If you have a sibling or know someone who did not receive this letter and would like to attend, please email a copy to them to make their reservation. We have had over 200 people attend the last three reunions and always have a great time!!!
Over half of our mailing is by email, which saves us a lot of money. If you do change your email address, please remember to let me know. We hope to have a 5th reunion in 2014, which will be the 50th anniversary of the Gaylord Alpenfest.
Tom and Jenni (Mongeau) Johnson, (Class of ’69) have kindly offered to host our reunion again this year, outdoors at their home, 10141 Geronimos Trail, on Saturday, July 16th, starting at 5:00 pm. Be sure to save this letter with the directions below. You will need to bring your own beverages. Ice and cups will be furnished. A buffet will begin around 6:30 pm. Dress is casual and please bring a warm sweatshirt/sweater for later in the evening as we hope to have a campfire to sit around and chat. In 2009, we needed our winter coats!!
The price for the evening is $15 per person which not only includes the buffet but the mailings, & rental of the tent, tables & chairs, etc. If you planning to attend, send me an email (JLREINIE@AOL.COM) that you will be there and then put your check in an envelope and mail it to me as soon as possible. Remember, this is Alpenfest week in Gaylord. Make your lodging reservations early and enjoy the fun downtown. One of the big old homes on Main Street, across from our old movie theatre, is a great Bed and Breakfast with room for up to 15. DIRECTIONS TO REUNION
From downtown, go South on Otsego Avenue (Old 27), 8 miles to the South end of Otsego Lake. Turn right (West) at the blinking light - C38/Mancelona Road.
Continue on C38/Mancelona Road for 6.5 miles to Geronimos Trail (on left).
Watch for the balloons along the way.
Lots of parking anywhere along the road.
